DESCRIPTION: APW - Illinois, Bunn Special, 23J 60 Hour, Type III marking, 16S, white gold-filled OF original Bunn Special Model 28 case, "Illinois Bunn Special 23 Jewel 60 Hour" marked white enamel DS dial, SW-LS, fully capped lever escapement, jeweled barrel arbor, rayed pattern nickel damascene, s#5218825. An excellent example of this high grade railroad watch; this movement features an "Illinois Watch" factory marking rather than the "Illinois Watch Co." marking more commonly seen among Type III production; this marking variant is identified as Type III (H) in Michael Chamelin's Bunn Special book and is mentioned with an estimated production of two-to-three thousand made.
